independence

independence

A Poem by Rebecca Leigh
"

Just some thoughts running in my mind.

"

It is not expectation I grasp,
But hope,
Hope that my kindness
and devotion would be returned.
Each time I am let down I have my glasses on,
And realize,
I am an enigma,
Living in the wrong time.
No one acts like me,
At least, no one I know...
Been living with this since I was small,
People don't change or evolve,
They don't even seem to care at all.
No wonder the world is going to hell...
The older I grow, the more I suspect,
People will leave and dissapoint,
So rather than have all your faith in others,
Put the faith into yourself.
When everyone leaves,
You are left with only you.

I agree Rebecca,
"People don't change or evolve,
They don't even seem to care at all.
No wonder the world is going to hell... "
People accept little and give-up dreams too quickly. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
