Untended

Untended

A Poem by A. Kim Spradling
"

For the Stone with rough edges, who has been where I've been.

"

Years…

One who whispers

In my ear,

Saying things

I long to hear.

A partner in

My daily life.

A harbor through

The cruel and strife.

Then…

One enormous,

Tragic blow

Which breaks apart

The status quo.

Betrayal, the worst,

One could fathom.

Creating a widening,

Bottomless chasm.

My Soul, I find,

Is with another.

Once lit so bright,

Attempt to smother.

After…

No mere mortal

So full of trust

Can fight the hurt

Of bended lust.

A life rebuilt

Now riddled with doubt.

Unfaithful deeds led to

An emotional drought.

Mistrust is high.

Picking tales apart

Because of lies to

A once whole heart.

Now…

Wading in

The shallow tide,

Not ready for

The deeper ride.

A fresh new start,

Clouded by the dust.

Where do I find

This thing called trust?

I get to the end of this, and think to myself HOW ON EARTH DOES THIS HAVE NO REVIEWS!!!! THIS IS AWESOME! I honestly can put no words together to describe the power and energy that this conveys! It flows, it dances, it delivers a strong message.....Well done! Much enjoyed this one.
