Shallow

Shallow

A Poem by A. Kim Spradling
"

Do you prefer the shallows?

"

I don’t swim in shallow water.

The deep end’s the place for me.

Some like to splash in shallows.

Beneath is where they could be.

Several swim along the surface,

Or never go below.

They ignore the rhythm of the tide,

And miss the ebb and flow.

I enjoy going down

And diving deeply in.

The water, it surrounds me,

And shimmers on my skin.

There are many wonders

Just waiting for you there.

It takes a little courage

And showing that you care.

A portion will get slightly wet

And others just won’t bother.

But, as for me, I prefer,

Not to swim in shallow water.

Gee
Morning, simple rhyming verse, my cuppa. Think the last verse needs looking at as not as tight as all others
