New Roads

New Roads

A Poem by A. Kim Spradling
"

Life is filled with many roads

"

The known unspoken.

A dream still broken.

Time tried to heal

The wound so real.

A world now stable.

Your memories, a fable.

No feelings to block.

No excitement to lock.

A new road to travel.

Nothing left to unravel.

When.

The door is opened just a bit,

Enough room for hope to fit.

Why open the door with

No feelings to explore?

Is it a shame,

To play the game?

Where to go?

A chance or blow?

A new road to head?

Filled with dread.

Then.

Why suffer the wonder!

Feelings torn asunder?

Not knowing why,

A time to do or die.

Cast away silly pride.

Nothing left to hide.

Telling in the written word,

That which is no longer blurred.

A new road, I dare?

Possibilities to share?

Now.

Waiting to see,

If WE could be.

About to give up hope.

Can one ever cope?

The door opens wide.

Filling warmth inside.

A hand to grasp.

I reach to clasp.

A new road combined.

Two are aligned.

An interesting tale of spiritual growth and the renewal of hope. I love the structure and the short, sharp hits in each line. The progression is both natural and enticing. I am glad I found this one!

Beautiful telling tale of finding hope in life and beyond.
Belle, i loved how your words ring in the mind when we read. I can't say much about technical meters and rhyme scheme, but i liked how smoothly it flows.
Kudos!

P.S.: In the 6th stanza did you mean 'head' instead of 'ahead'?
