Your Sweet, Honey Glance (9)

Your Sweet, Honey Glance (9)

A Poem by benhinson
"

My first attempt at a love poem, let me know anything to improve upon

"

I want to write you a poem,

a poem to show you the beauty you release when you smile,

a poem to show how much I’d do to take your hand and bring you to the floor to dance,

I was entranced the second the light shone upon your sweet, honey glance

But glance not as I fall into an oasis, a place where I can’t, can’t

The way the light beams off your iridescent skin, can alone raise my chin

Your presence brings me to a place I feel there is no longer sin

Electricity fills my stomach as I smile, look over to you, and you grin

Your speech is a beautiful serenade strung from a violin,

Your sweet honey glance has me trapped, stuck in pools

But escape not I want, while with you I turn to monarchy

For without you I lay dark and vanquished, waiting for my chance

When I stare into your sweet, honey glance,

I watch golden waves thrash and boaters floating in canoes

For when I stare into your sweet, honey glance

The definition of perfection changes, to you.
