Don't Lust for Love

I learned some hard lessons along the way.

Trust what I say

If you love someone

Let them stay

For a while at least

For each others sakes

Aim to trust

Don't lust for love

You both began a story

So keep going as long as possible

Never give up the heart 

Try to finish what you start

People come and go

But love is more than just your ego

Its the beginning of passion

As two hearts collide

Its the spark which speaks

Its the fire that heats

Its the earth you share

In the moments you bear 

Sometimes its hard

You’ll fall more times you know

If you see the tough times through

Try it first before your left behind too

As the passion drives

Look for ways to never let go

Let your love thrive

Where the motion flows

When your deep in each others hearts

You’ll never have to go looking for your empty parts

Stay loyal together

And thats where your love could last forever

A fine description of enduring love, Ben. It reads like it comes from the wisdom of experience. I am one of those that goes all out to make love endure through the good times and the bad. Too many today seem to call it quits for their own selfish reasons. As you have written, if we tough it out, endure our trials, show trust and stick solid, we can create an everlasting love. It seems farfetched to some, but it can be done. There is a lot of wisdom in this poem and its message is lovely in itself. Much enjoyed! :)
