to touch as a child

to touch as a child

A Poem by Benjamin Edgar Williams
"

Do you remember the innocence and desires of your earliest thoughts?

"

there is a tenderness that a child knows,

that some of us have forgotten.

it is honest and unpretentious, pure and unfettered:

it requires that we touch…

…because of love,

 unafraid to be rejected…

willing to move beyond self and become naked and vulnerable…

this is the best way to love.

this is the best way to be loved.

this love cannot be found because it’s not lost,

it’s in us.

It is a decision, a choice, a will…

…time and desire are the forces that can move us to remember…

…and try again.

This perfectly describes what life should be truly about as humans, how we should approach living and creativity filled with wondrous desire steeped in innocent outlook,
when contrasted with adulthood of bills, worries, hypocrisy, jealous schemes, envy and pretence.

Brother, can you do me the honour of reviewing some of my work with honest and helpful constructive criticism; because I see that you know much about poetry and general life experience.
I would appreciate it much.

WELL DONE
