50

50

A Poem by Benovic

I hope that when we're 50 and I haven't seen you since 19..
When you're with your family,
I hope you tell your kids
About old memories.
I hope you tell them how much
You love their father.
But when you turn around I hope
You remember the reason why
You smile when you hear a song
By biggie.
I hope you cringe every time
You see a Bmw
I hope you remember
The dumb things that made laughter
I hope you never
Feel the hollowness of a hardwood
Floor
I hope you hear my voice in your head
Every time you step.
And every time you hear a ball dribble
I hope you think of me.
Matter of fact, no.
I hope when your kids ask who
Your first love was, I hope you don't
Even flash back to me.
I hope he makes you forget,
And I remember now..
I just want you to be happy.
