Hardwood

Hardwood

A Poem by Benovic

They use to
Lay
Just lay
On the hardwood floor
That seemed hollow
Right under.
They used to
Play love songs & just vibe.
Side by side.
He used to pretend
It wasn't her
It wasn't her
That He was thinking about
During each song.
It wasn't her
He was so
Hesitant
Upon kissing.
It wasn't her
Who appeared
So
So Angelic & gracious.
She embodies
A grace that filled the void
& made the
Hardwood seem so
So warm.
But 4am came
Much too quick.
& the moment vanished,
As quick as
The memories with her.
When they were so
So
Innocent.
