Regression

Regression

A Poem by Miles Wilburn
"

The price you pay to be with someone

"
Maybe God is in the rain
cries tears of love
joy and pain

Maybe, A man is borne to waste
the heart is meant to pump
and eventually fade away

Maybe, I'm meant to wander home
back to the place my heart used to roam
but what if you won't receive me
don't believe me

the adventures I could tell
the stories how they swell
and burst like balloons
hold fast to truth

So I regress
Following breadcrumbs back to my home
and somehow I feel like its where I belong
But I'm not wanted here anymore

The place where my heart belongs
it likes to lie, and pretend its someone else inside
and above all this love I feels
kills my soul, I'll kill myself
to be with you
because theres no place I'd rather be than with you.

I'd rather be with you
