My Table Alarm Clock

My Table Alarm Clock

A Poem by Deepika

Every dawn she wakes me up with my fave song,

Yet, I slap her tight at first and make her cease,

She acts patient, but not for too long,

I'm out of couch with her repeated Snooze!

Some day she frowned and kept herself mum,

That's when I faced a total swamped day!

To whitewash, I blamed her in front of some,

Not accepting my fault in  the course of  the delay!

This night I ask her to change her tune,

Assuming I was lost in its melody last night,

Morning she sings merrily in a harsh tone,

This time she gets a slap that's even tight!

One day she was bugged with my way of acting,

She planned to find an end of herself,

By jumping off from her homely shelf!

Now I realize her standing,

When I had to spend my day without her,

More so when I was penalized on her repair!

Thanks a lot Anjana !:)
The personification and the way you emoted the clock was really really fun to read! seemed so real, the despair and frustration of the inanimate towards mans misgivings. Lovely piece deepika :)

Thank you so much Roshan! :)
This is really fun! Poor clock getting the blame for the authors tardiness - no wonder 'she' wanted to slide off her mortal coil (or would that be spring - or cog - no matter)
Money talks and alarm clock walks once more -
I enjoyed the mirth here. Thanks for the RR. Deepika :))
