Standing

Standing

A Poem by BethWilliamson.

a baby,you left her
standing in the cold,
your baby,
you left her, her daddy unknown.
Your own, your blood,
the one you take to care,
a baby,you left her,
with noone else there.

Her grandad, amazing
like a second dad
her grandad,he gave her
the life she could of never had,

Her mummy,so protecting
but with the truth brought out
her mummy, so clever
with thoughts so well thought out

her brother,
left also,
not like the other kids,
her brother
got through it,
no matter what they did

her nana,
support,
someone to smile,
her nanna
give her thinking, sometime
to make worth while

her life, seems crap
right?
but she doesent care
she has got through it,
almost 17 year

her life
will get better
when she finds her love

her life, shes' sure,
theres someone looking down to me from
above.

The way this is set up makes a great testimonial to how you can get knocked flat on your rump and get right back up and make the best of things. Where it began with a girl being left behind, angry and sad, and how she took that and turned it making sure she wouldn't let her hold it down is great. Good job. =)
