A Writer's tale

A Writer's tale

A Poem by Rebecca K Pavia

Stories flooding through my head
Of knights and elves and mages
Dragons roar with fiery breath
As my fingers turn the pages.

Let me in, my spirit begs
As it courts my fascination
The edges blur and bleed within
Divine imagination.

Tempting me from bleak stained truth
Are worlds you cannot see
Magic thrives where dreams begin
And they’ll be the death of me.

Roaming far away from fact
For fiction yields more riches
The pen is truly mightier
When faced with beasts and witches.

For from those words a strength is found
Where weakness once did dwell
And heavens light just out of reach
Grants sanctuary from hell.

As eyes are closed and breath is held
Waves crash upon a shore
My fantasy breaks free its binds
And walks through an open door.

Loved this, it is a wonderful glimpse into a magical world one that the writer can make his or her own as you have done here. I hopwe you continue on the course you have set for yourself.

Oh God. It's so gorgeous. The imagery is just lovely. I can truly imagine a dragon breathing fire as the reader flips through the pages, and the cackling of witches at every corner. It's also personal for me as I felt the same way when reading books of myth and fantasy. Just wonderful.
