Can I?

Can I?

A Poem by Bill James

Can I?

Can I live for the moment to be with again?
The moment to hold your hand again
To get lost between are arms
And find myself in your eyes

Can I take a breath?
To extract all the ways I feel about you
To exhale the flame
From my soul set alight

Can I hold you close?
So that I can go home
To the place my smile loves
Back to where I belong

Can I make you smile?
That smile, the fire of a thousand suns
Fuel to my stars
The light in my dark

Can I make you laugh?
Let me whisper my madness into your ear
Let me share me, all of me
Redefining all that I can be

Can I leave my heart with you?
In the place it needs to be
In the lighthouse I have always unknowingly searched for
Can I leave it on your sleeve?
