How I Won the War (From Whispering Sweet Nothing)

How I Won the War (From Whispering Sweet Nothing)

A Poem by Curiosity and Black Angel
"

How I Won the War is a metaphor for love. It truly is scattered battles in a war, isn't it?

"

How I Won the War

It was a pivotal battle between the two of us…
the most decisive of all the intimate encounters.

Ten years from now I will look back
on this pivotal contest and smile.

We attracted each other like
negative and positive.

Cinnamon spice laid its siege,
a gentle touch of Vanilla Musk
stabbed my nostrils.

Her bullets of affection penetrated my defenses,
almost paralyzing me for life.

I was careful in my retaliation,
a cautiously planned counterattack followed.

My tactics... flawless,
it broke her down to her knees.

A white flag followed…

Maybe it was a well-thought out
trick or something,
but I didn’t care.

Surrender never before looked so desirable.

Touching, screaming, passionate closeness,
and hours of love making followed.

Clever writing, good use of passion as war, war as passion..

'Cinnamon spice laid its siege,a gentle touch of Vanilla Musk / stabbed my nostrils.' ... great sound to those words when read aloud.

'Surrender never before looked so desirable.' - for some reason i smiled at that, for it's truth.

My one negative: could you find an alternative for one of the 'pivotals'!

Thanks lots for sharing.

This is an interesting piece, I really enjoyed reading it. I like the "battle" or "war" between lovers and how "Surrender never before looked so desirable." I can definately relate to this. Good write!
