Behind Closed Doors

Behind Closed Doors

A Poem by WynterPhoenix

Behind a closed door,

Slightly worse than before.

In the company of strangers,

Temporarily rescued from these dangers.

Acting up the stage,

Behind your eyes of invisible rage.

The bruises are hidden,

This long road has been ridden.

The back of your hand whispers as you pass,

I don’t fit in with your class.

Embarrassing acts fill you with hate,

My only content, soon I’ll be at heaven’s gate.

Down the stairs, tossed to the floor.

No one knows what happens behind a closed door.
