Pony Poise

Pony Poise

A Poem by WynterPhoenix

Innocent wishes

Long forgotten.

Pony poise,

Pretty princess.

Pave over the path of

Butterfly kisses.

Adorn yourself

With gloomy existence.

Pink dresses.

Pretty bows.

And plastic pearls

Are tossed.

Down the well

With your

Perfectly pink

Lipgloss.

Replaced with

A black wardrobe,

Chipped nails,

And scars.

Daddy’s little girl

Has gone too far.

“Save me”

She screams.

Her pretty smile

Creates smoke in

Mirrors.

Deceiving you,

She’s not your princess.

Kidnapped by

The darkness shadows,

Now living inside

Her soul.

Mommy dearest says,

“Pony poise,

Pretty princess.”

Starry sparkles,

Gleaming eyes.

Quite an actress,

This disguise.

Daddy. Didn’t you

Wonder why,

Your pretty princess

Sees darker skies.

You’d never notice

If I tried to run.

-------------

Don’t worry dad,

To the poison

I’ve succumb.
