Fall For Yourself

Fall For Yourself

A Poem by Serenity Faith

I once met a woman,
and she once said to me,
"I hope you fall in love,
first with yourself baby"

"Men are pennies a plenty,
some with the same worth, .
But darlin' you're a hundred,
a walkin' angel on this earth"

"Don't cry about a heart,
placed in another's hand.
Love is spinnin' in circles,
you gotta know how to land."

"Twirlin' too fast,
will only make you dizzy.
Staggerin' about not knowin',
if he's the one, is he?"

"Turnin' about slowly,
takes the fun out of the risk.
You gotta get your heart beatin',
you gotta keep your tempo brisk"

"Love yourself sweet sugar.
Wrap your arms real tight,
close your eyes and tumble,
and land like dynamite"

"Laugh alot and smile,
get caught up in yourself,
when the right one comes along,
he'll see all of your wealth."

"He'll quickly be drawn in,
like a moth to a flame,
For your light is iridescent,
then he'll be yours to claim"

"He'll love the way you love,
and show you every day,
even through the storms,
and when it's hard to say."

"A man who sees,
you lovin' you,
will want to do the same,
He'll want to love you too"

I remember when she finished,
as her lover took her hand.
He held onto her closely,
as he helped her up to stand.

His eyes lit up with hers,
as he turned to me and said,
"We've been married 60 years now,
and I will love her till I'm dead."
