There was a girl
Who wanted to be loved
She looked in all the wrong places
Found herself in drastic situations
Until she came upon a face
That with the purest smile
The brightest eye's 
His words left her in a daze
His kisses set her body ablaze 
She found her prince 
Once upon a time...
There was a girl
With a broken heart
Everything she thought was right
Was wrong
Nothing ever hurt her like this before
This pain
These tears that ran down her face
Were strange
She felt she couldn't live anymore
With every passing day 
Those tears and that pain
Started to fade
Once upon a time...
There was a girl
Who knew love was too good to be true
Her scars tell her story
Her past the she hides
Behind a mask of lies
She walk's through life wondering
If she should give up

I feel like the rhyme scheme may be a bit random and erratic, but I felt like the rhythm was on point so that wasn't entirely noticeable. As for the theme, it reminded me a little of a Taylor Swift song, but I still enjoyed it all the same. Tender, sweet, and sad, it was a poem that really spoke of the emotions between two young people.
