To Generate, Generation

To Generate, Generation

A Poem by Laura Lynn

To Generate, Generation

Walk through the door to a new generation.
A generation is too a long time; a door swings a duration.
Take me, they say.  We want to be taken, the new generation.
Dearies, I’ll never forget my grandmother said reincarnation.
Oh, my mother loved carnations, like Germany, the United States.
Risk your hour now, and walk about apace.
Lamb’s wool can be bought at a discount rate.
Elements are so contrary, mace
Contests another herbal remedy.
Here there is another meter not for quarters.
Othello and Ophelia ought to say “hee”
Laughter in one syllable like that, now hemmed in warders
Eclipsed by the black ole sun and castles;
Lunacy coming at them from Old Scroll tassels
.

What is history for, eh … if we don't learn from it. Volumes of meaning here.
