Let Us Be Grateful to God

Let Us Be Grateful to God

A Poem by Laura Lynn

Assent, would he take my missive memories?

Bit that the horse chews, unkind fluctuation of my
Blabbermouth self, they gave me the information.
Assert the truth, the truth now is hostility and
Tower hospitality, I hadn’t thought of that.
Town, so far from here, you are the town I wanted.
Enact for me, lust of life and body, this new sound

Revs up the old ground.  Everything seems fine before
Enamel is chipped away, nicked by the poor child.
Assertive and druglike, we drink our drugs by dregs.
Bite the stupid bait, the stupid temptation, you are not a
Blanket, therefore.  You shall not be stupid or silent.
Assembly lines have decreed with Elijah that the child’s

Toxic warnings were unheeded. For years he couldn’t speak.

Tocsins are released through the skin they told me in the aisle,
Enduring three thousand nights of his presence or memory.
Reverberations of some psychosomatic symptom, he is the
Scenery and too powerful.  In this state a tyrant and never an
Interest rate.  Never to fly here.  Never to fly.  I too am a hen.
Assembly plants I have never seen and probably never will,
Blaring their resources over to my neck of the woods, I need

Blackberries, raspberries, though I could grow them too, so to
Assimilate huckleberry friends.  Sail with me on the Moon River,
Toy with me and your love of Audrey Hepburn, and nation we will
Trace our footsteps with loving remembrances and ideas.  Don’t rhyme.
Interfere with elixirs, and try to get rid of these warts.  Terrible realities.
Momentary flights of fancy cannot undo scars yet, we love, I love, you love.
Engineering truths, I shall be a genius too with you, why it is dangerous, but

Nightingales thrive and sing so blatantly euphoric for companies’
Trade fairs.  Let me go!  Shouldn’t I go to them too?! Our
Output is a sorry friend for what could be, or will be, and might or shall.
