Fragments

A Poem by Laura Lynn

Accustomed to tales of the Gold, Silver, or

Bronze Ages, we’ll plan or follow a circuit.

Imposters match and do not match each other.

Thereabouts they’d go for a better climate.
Untimely travel out of necessity. I was gold.

Austere as old men and women we’ll closet,
relegate, and resign both young and old for
evolutionists’ theories and a donut.

Authenticity proved for a Cameo
brooch by an appraiser, prepare the docket.
Impulse will guide you, but you will have options.

Thermometers exquisitely made.  Despot,
usual days not Home Depot but the Byzantine
Age.  She won’t have time to throw down the gauntlet.

Lifelike the old ghost character: usual,
everlasting, of Ceres runs the gamut.

Annotate.  What other way is there to learn?

Brood on your endurance; drink from the goblet.
Impunity given for the stolen car,

Thermostat raised before the game was forfeit…
Used to see my parents fighting about it…
All-purpose cleaner…trying not to fidget

Rely on patterns of behavior, gifting
Smokey sausages. See femmes wearing frontlets.
Impressionistic painting we are used to.
