Axe

Axe

A Poem by Laura Lynn

Am I trying to say something new with an axe?
Can you blame us, when some say that’s what
cowgirls or cowboys need, just call us cowhands?
Every night I say what everyone has said before;
take us in and give us your time.  How will we
treat each person with respect?  Give us proper
appointments and teach us to value what we own.

Great writing. I love how it uses the ax as a symbolic sign.
