Beyond The Stars

poetry by me.

Beyond the stars there is a world
a world just like our own
a world where lost ideas are hurled
a world that�s all alone.

In this world there�s war and peace
there�s love and hate and fear and death
for without these all worlds would cease
and then no more would life be left.

The people there are much like us
they think and feel and dream
they look into their star-filled skies
and wonder if it�s as it seems.

Yet this world is far away
drifting on as Planets do
as we wonder about them today
surely, they wonder about us too.

My fave line is.."a world where lost ideas are hurled..."
I could just imagine an idea hurled into a vast expanse of darkness and stars.
"Beyond the Stars" made me think of the book series "K-Pax" by Gene Brewer. In "K-Pax" an alien named Prot comes to earth, and after observing life here he found the most enlightened people were committed to a mental hospital! Prot is funny because the way he thinks and does things is so contrary to normal and common sense but really, there is alot of logic and intelligence to his actions.
