Watching You Leave

Watching You Leave

A Poem by Angel Criner
"

For the past 3 months I've been suppressing my emotions, tears, and thoughts. So unfinished poems, new scars, and denied emotions are the result. I don't want to think too much about this...that's all

"
I watched how your messages,

Became;

                         Slower

And

                                   Slower.
You stopped responding.

I stopped showing my feelings.

I watched you stop admiring the sweet little things I did,

Like;

Sending you random selfies and confessions,

Getting jealous whenever you brought up other girls,

Writing you poetry and singing your favorite love songs,

And talking to you in my sleepy voice until I fell asleep. (etc)

I watched how you stopped making sure that we went to sleep blissfully;

I watched how you unlatched from me, out of nowhere;

                                                                                      completely.

And I'm afraid that,
                                slowly,

I'm just watching you,

                                              leave.
