What you really are.

What you really are.

A Poem by Blazeking636
"

It's a small poem about a small child talking who I assume is her father. I knew the father from school and wondered if it really was his child, while thinking that I thought of this poem.

"

We do not have to share blood or history

What we do share means more to me

You are no stranger to me

and I am no stranger to you.

My blood may come from a different history

My eyes may shine a different color than yours

But I see what you have shown me

I trust what was shown not what was told.

We share similar thoughts and feelings

We argue but then we make up

You treat me like I am yours

So I follow your example, your actions.

We live together and you share with me what is yours

I have nothing to return but my love and smile

The one you call cute

I hate when you call it cute.

I know what you really are

I know what you have done for me

Not then but now I do

That is why I call you Father.

We do not share blood or history

But we share love and comfort

I am your child

and you are my Father.

That is all that matters.
