Villanelle

A Poem by BleedMyHeartOut
"

This is a new form I decided to try.

"

Do not tell me that you ever bothered to care.

Your heart has always been black.

Do not pretend you were ever there.

Somehow I managedto find an escape to your ugly snare.

As you chose a blade to insert in my back.

Do not tell me that you ever bothered to care.

What you had planned, I was not aware.

Trust in you, I did not lack.

Do not pretend you were ever there.

Though I was initially told beware,

I closed my eyes, leaving them barely open a crack.

Do not tell me that you ever bothered to care.

Your words have always been difficult to bear.

I cannot always be my strongest when you chose blaming me as your attack.

Do not pretend you were ever there.

I wish everything ever said would evaporate into the air.

Instead of leaving the bits of me open for you to add to your broken rack.

Do not tell me that you ever bothered to care.

Do not pretend you were ever there.
