Self Inflicted Pain

Self Inflicted Pain

A Poem by Erika Jones
"

Here's one of the first few poems I wrote :)

"

My pain is my drug

My blood is my heroine

The only thing that can take me from my thoughts

The feeling I get when I take the razor to my pale flesh

Blood dripping down my arm is ecstasy

          Blood, it's smell harmonious

          It takes my breath away

          I love nothing more

When the blood touches my lips and my tongue

Well my mind shuts off

No more thoughts to register but my sweet taste

No longer can be felt, the pain

Hurt and heart break brings me to this

How inflicted pain takes this away I will never know

Alone is how I now feel

Aside from my self inflicted pain

I like the description of your infliction. Inflictions give us character and backbone. No weakness in this poem. I enjoyed the reasons for the poem and the very good ending. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.
