Personal Entertainment

Personal Entertainment

A Poem by Erika Jones

If you could see through my eyes.

What I go through every day

You wouldn't question everything I do

Everything I say

Everything that's a part of me

Everything that makes me, me.

But you can't see through my eyes

You wouldn't try anyway.

You would rather walk away

Leave me in my pain

Watch me struggle to find my breath

Struggle to find myself once again when it's been lost

Because you don't care.

And you never will.

So hand me the gun that you're so willing to let me have

Let me pull the trigger

Let me end my suffering.

Or would you take it from me

Just so you can see me struggle even more.

Like I'm your personal entertainment.
