As Tall As A Heart

As Tall As A Heart

A Poem by AutonomousAmbivalence

He wakes up, as tall as a heart,

palms fully stretched overhead

This is the day love is returning home

As eager as his heels, with the words unsaid

She's just on the other side of the phone

The flight leaves at nine and all the while

The shared baggage soon down to one

He's ready now, hands up, guards down

and shaking fingers begin to dial
