Words

A Poem by Kat Williams

Pain
Pleasure
Hate
Love
Sometimes they go hand in hand
Cause sometimes
Sometimes
Pain
Pleasure
Hate
Love
Become part of relationships
My relationships
Future
Present
Past
History has proven
I can't judge
A book by its cover
Cause the covers have shown cracks
Have shown tread marks from being run over
And spilt on
Spines cracked
Pages missing
Scribbles in the margins
Random highlights
Of things not so important
In
Green
Blue
Yellow
Orange
RED
But still
I want to read
I try to learn
Dyslexia
Has been diagnosed
So I struggle
Sounding out each word
Making it new
Making it mine
Separating syllables
Acknowledging vowels
Making adverbs my friend
And acknowledging synonyms
For me
Love
Hate
Pain
Pleasure
