Sickness

Sickness

A Poem by Kat Williams

Love sickness
Upset tummies
And
Hearts beating way to fast

That's us

Every day
Flushed
Not from the excitement
Of seeing and being
One
To divisive for that

No medicine prescribed
Or taken
For sickness
Invading
Daily
As we
Fall out of
we

Not quickly
To virulent for that
Think on it

Invasive
This love
Ending

Every cell reacting
To the unmerger
Of we

No claiming
Or accepting
As
Past possibles
Fade into
Never try agains
While
Never tried at all
Becomes the standard

Acceptance of
Becomes easier
As feelings for
We
Become easier
To erase
And replace
With transparent
Secondarys
Scribes
Friendships
Phone calls
And pretend text messages
From others

New
Medicine
And bottles of
Greener grass
On the other side

Chopped shorter than
Manicured lawns
Tended not by we

Deceiving appearances
Leading to blind eyes
Turned by we

We who are blinded by
They said
And we should
Never
I love
And
We love

Not anymore that is

Sickness no longer
Acceptance no longer
Because new one's won't allow

Pill swallowed finally
