Reboot

Reboot

A Poem by BlondieFrost

I trace my fingers through the smoke
Spelling out words I can't say
Dotting the 'i' with a dot
Because hearts slip away too quickly.
I spread my body across the sheets
Savouring every fold that brushes against me
Like the touch of god
gentle and fading.
I close my eyes trying not to think
That our eyes are never truly closed
Only shielded, only hidden
Yet we still go on seeing.
I hesitate
Leaving the lights off
So I can pretend it is night,
And wait to wake up in tomorrow.
