Shoot

Shoot

A Poem by BlueZan

Listen to that sad song...

It reminds you of yourself, you

watch that strong man cry because his

best friend died from that syrup or something

someone, anyone, everyone died from that s**t we did just

to get high.. At least a little bit.

But that plot's not high,

that plot won't thicken

and all you can do is listen and it

makes your ears ring and your

eyes sting and you're thinking

Well...

Shoot.

I shoot, you shoot, we shoot,

be it needles or guns or booze,

shoot...

he got shot.

The kind that he won't come home from.

he won't wake up with a headache,

boy aches,

cold sweats, hallucinations, and

broken, mumbled promises

"I'll never do that again..."

with a smart-a*s smirk on his face.

No more smirks on his face.

Too close to home and not

too far from here, it could have been...

any of us.

That sad song, when it ends,

You're left staring at the blank screen with

your face looking back at you and eyes

hopefully, finally open and

all you can think is

s**t...
