His Rain

His Rain

A Poem by Blue Citrus
"

In the end, you were able to say you loved becausewithout love we cease to exist.

"
'I fell in love with the rain' he told me
In truth however, the perilous journey of the tiny water droplet
Becomes the murky puddle too quickly
It's existence merely reduced down to the droplet in the vast sea

He wished to see the rain, he says
To be able to peak at it from his window
The convenience, ignorance and innocence in his words
Had me believe that he'd choose me over snow

I want your rain, says he
Had I known, it was without my cloudy grey skies
Without the counterparts of my
Thunder, lightning, mist and breeze
And yet forgotten plays the sound of rain
That once brought you to your knees

'You don't want the rain anymore'

'You want a rainbow' I said
Where you can admire only the beauty
In the ugly, the aftermath of what
Rain brings after its completed duty.
