Signs of A New Season

Signs of A New Season

A Poem by Jaci

the sky was woven

with orange and red

streaked through

a watery morning

grey predominated

as the hours moved

further into the day

the palette melted

and washed away

How green the grass

stricken with dew

elongated emeralds glow

rejoicing in the rain

now through the moist

aromatic earth

pale yellow

promises soon to bloom

spring!

I've missed you so

signs are all around

It's in the lack of frost

upon the windowpane

and in the song of birds

filling the warmer air

and the anticipation

of better things

closer to each horizon.
