Getting Warmer

Getting Warmer

A Poem by Jaci

snow fell softly
throughout the night
peaceful sleep was shattered
each flake like shards of glass
upon the pavement scattered
cold wrestled fitful dreams
and cold I was on awakening
but with the light
in the morning sky
all the birds began to sing
and glass formed puddles of water
the troubled thoughts
that bordered my mind
are melting with the sun
