Rancorous Elites.

Rancorous Elites.

A Poem by Bonaventure Onuabuchi

In their chambers they sit,
swimming in the ocean of unhealthy wealth,
mighty oceans made of little drops of blood.

Fame is the only goal they set!
Worshiping a god that will soon fade.
With glint in their eyes to reach the shore,
faces in union,
minds stood aloof,
accepting fellows with silence reproof.

Prima donnas battling for primacy,
which chameleons to be a natural cheat,
where feces eaten by dogs,
darken the teeth of goats.

Rancorous hearts covered with smiles.
Hunting for bloods to save life.
Immaculate hearts gloomed to retain doomed ranks.
Exchanging darkness to dwell in light.

Philanthropist of public pulsation,
with claims of public spirited.
Patronizing widows of death-alive husbands,
husbands paralyzed with strokes,
robbing parents to pay offspring.
Shutting all mouths to question their authority.

Brutalizing soundless drummers,
whom their secret and silence drum beats,
is like when the wind blows.
It paves no way for secrecy,
exposes the anus of the fowls.

The rancorous elites,
turns it to a vain venture,
threatening courage to fear.
This result to an undue fealty,
and a lost in silence,
waiting for the revenge of time.
