I Remember

I Remember

A Poem by Your Dog Can Type

I remember
The sunlight on my skin
My hair blowing, too wild to pin
That summer

I remember
The smell of flowers in the heat
The music I loved, the beat
That summer

I remember
The dots of rain on my window
The scent of grass, after a mow
That summer

I remember
The moonlight shining through the glass
The nights too short to let pass
That summer

But every year, the world would spin, round and round it went
Away went the heat, the sun, the beat, even the precious scent

The leaves fall, turning brown, crunched down to grains, gone would be all
The sun would leave, the clouds would come, storms, they would conceive
Bears would sleep, squirrels would cease, birds no longer peep

I remember
The sunlight on my skin
My hair blowing, too wild to pin
That summer

I remember
The smell of flowers in the heat
The music I loved, the beat
That summer

I remember
The dots of rain on my window
The scent of grass after a mow
That summer

I remember
The moonlight shining through the glass
The nights too short to let pass
That summer

But every year, the world would spin, round and round it went
Away the leaves, the bears and birds, even the sun, away it sent

Ice and snow would fall, from monster clouds, blanketing trees so tall
Skies would turn gray, clouds would grow big, leaving not a sun ray
The air grows cold, the trees seem dark, the world gets very old

I remember
The sunlight on my skin
My hair blowing, too wild to pin
That summer

I remember
The smell of flowers in the heat
The music I loved, the beat
That summer

I remember
The dots of rain on my window
The scent of grass after a mow
That summer

I remember
The moonlight shining through the glass
The nights too short to let pass
That summer

But every year, the world would spin, round and round it went
Away the snow, the clouds, the cold, it sent

The ice would melt, the leaves would grow, greeting the return of a rabbit pelt
Flowers emerge, the grass turns green, awake in the sun's surge
The birds would sing, taking to the air, flapping every wing

I remember
The sunlight on my skin
My hair blowing, too wild to pin
That summer

I remember
The smell of flowers in the heat
The music I loved, the beat
That summer

I remember
The dots of rain on my window
The scent of grass after a mow
That summer

I remember
The moonlight shining through the glass
The nights too short to let pass
That summer

i understand what your saying. summer is like the greatest thing ever and then this monster of cold and leaves and unhappy comes and takes it all away until next year. I always get depressed right around this time because i don't have the sunny and happy to lift me up. It's always cold and dreary. great work. this really got to me because it made me remember somethings of my own. keep it up!
