Teary

Teary

A Poem by Yue Zhang

Doleful drops of rain
lingering behind the wall, building
bonding to each other, unwilling to let go.
Soon the dam will break, and let the water flow
away washes your pride
washes your face with salt.
Streaking, dripping, running,
from the two corners of sight
unable to fight,
that unbearable urge
to cry.

You give a nice description of weeping with control. The first two lines really say a lot. Really nice job on this one Jenny.

I like this poem. Especially the line "washes your face with salt." Very meaningful. Probably what everyone feels when they let those tears flow.
