My Love at Its Best

My Love at Its Best

A Poem by Yue Zhang

Utterly useless
completely compulsive
Like a hailstorm in the middle of August.
When the time has come
and the smiles have fled
when the tears have dried,
I will tell you
tell you how I feel
about the day you misunderstood me
the hour you ignored me
the minute you hit me
the second you hated me
The years it will take you to forget me
Utterly compulsive
completely useless
my love at its best.

I like the use of repetition and the cross switch f the words, it gives interesting structure
