The Astrodeeds Chronicles _ Intro < The Broken Wings of the Phoenix >

A Poem by Borislava Zo

Broken Wings...
Plenty of feathers
dispersed by the wind,
across the pavement
of an empty street,
my soul aching
and left to bleed out in the cold ...

Crimson and black
are the only colors I know..
painting this overwhelmingly dark
masterpiece of hope long lost
flickering behind the curtains
somehow failing
to emerge above the surface,
as the crystalline lattice
that held in place
the encryption of my existence,
would soon become
an obsolete asset,
the covalence of the bonds
lost its force,
the patterns were damaged,
leaving the threads susceptible
to the chain reaction
that was about to happen...

And as if enchanted
the raindrops tapped
as drums to a
shamanic mantra
chanting the symphony
of a midwinter night dream,
beneath the streams
of moonbeams
echoing
in perfect harmony
with the last beat
this heart shall make
in the name of pain,
in the name of agony...
then stone cold silence...
