dust on my fingertips

dust on my fingertips

A Poem by Boxcat

did you taste upon your lips
that beauty crashed a thousand ships?
the tongue wrapt careful never slips
hides the heart and helps eclipse

the urge to stare the world away
to keep the feeling far at bay
remind of him is as to say
that was only just foreplay

Did that linger on your tongue
the fleetingness of being young
the man you saw already hung
and so the song remains unsung
