Tears in the Wind

Tears in the Wind

A Poem by Lloyd
"

I went away to prison for the third or fourth time in the late 1980's. I had a girl in my life that had been my only love since High School. I was devastated that she would leave me. This was my response, or one of them.

"

We were two of a kind girl,

Both you and I,

It was easy.

We used to laugh and sing, we  raised a cain.

It was pleasing.

All the world was turning 'round and 'round,

Never thought it would turn upside down,

Tears in the wind,

Teardrops in the wind.

Then I went to prison babe,

I left you lonely.

Another came along and stole your heart,

Left me lonely.

While the world was turning 'round and 'round,

My world, it just turned upside down,

Tears in the wind,

Teardrops in the wind.

Now I find myself alone girl,

Memories are hazy,

I think about you though, sometimes I guess,

And go quite crazy.

Yeah, the world keeps turning 'round and 'round,

My world it just stays upside down,

Tears in the wind,

Teardrops in the wind.........

Author's Note

Lloyd
Like so many of my poems, I thought at first that it would be a song. I have since discovered that I prefer the reader find his own tune.
