The Devil

Reading Paradise Lost. I'm on the second part of it and this is what i got out of Paradise Lost, thus far!

The Devil (November 2010)

I was born of death.
Right handed Mammon
With septre in left.
Crowned by chaos and
Throned by darkness.
A shadow's breath 
Ingesting life and
Swallowing the Sun.
Morsels of radiance
Tempers the hunger
Of the bane of God.

I like the pentameter interrupted by two lines of tetrameter in the center (Throned by darkness. A shadow's breath). Not sure if that was on purpose, but I liked it.

Great biblical references, too. I don't think I've seen "Mammon" in a poem before. A dark, abstractly descriptive poem. Well done.

I like all concepts in writing about darkness...and I like this so much! all the picture of Devil is so magnificent and clear, as I see it now...and even I don`t feel scared from it, as He seems to be creative somehow...I love your expressions, it sounds deep..
