To Broken Love

To Broken Love

A Poem by Brandon Shields
"

A poem about a heartbreaking separation full of pain and hurt but all for the best.

"
Ah! I am free. And without thee,
I can finally be me. And with your ungrateful hateful way,
You ruined something true.
With that I must truthfully say,
That I'll never come back to you.
Never again will I kiss your lips,
Never again will I say that I love you,
Because with you, I'm no longer satisfied.
And in love with you I lied.
I love you as I love blue sky. That is all.
And my heart really did try to fall.
It tried to fall for you but couldn't.
My heart tried really hard but it wouldn't.
Though in saying this I shouldn't,
But in resisting the truth I couldn't.
With everytime I tried to fall,
It's away you rolled like a ball.
And I still love you above all.
Though for you I could not fall.

My heart tried really hard but it wouldn't.
Though in saying this I shouldn't,
But in resisting the truth I couldn't.

It reminded me of my first relationship in 10th grade. He said he loved me, but I couldn't say the same. And If I would have had said then it would have mean that I lied.
