Seeing Stars (Another world, another time)

Seeing Stars (Another world, another time)

A Poem by Hayden Chambers

The effortless beauty

The easy-going confidence

That heart-breaking voice

The half smiles and dark eyes

It's not really about looks

Not even the sound, the personality

It's the vicarious ambition

A worthy role model

I shouldn't love him, but I do

I fell like the first leaves

Unwilling, victim of the Autumn

Clinging tight to what I knew instead

Resistant to surrender

To that unrelenting force

I had no choice, I whisper

Into the space between the notes

Gentle as the first snowflakes

On a crisp winter's morning

As fierce as the burning sun

On an August moor

A voice as deep as the Atlantic

Swirling currents, peaks and troughs

Cradled in it's gentle sway

The power of eternity rolling

Across the years

And the miles

Another world for me

Another time for him

I saw stars in the sky

He saw faces in the crowd

The image is a dream for me

A memory for him
