A Story by brennan patterson
"

a short story/poem i wrote back in january about a disconnected love

"
It is with these next sentences that I shall admit to such tragedy and disbelief. In all circumstances, I am the one who shall remain guilty. An abundance of problems was situated from my own absentees.

For a man who promised you the universe, I could surely only give you an island, but it stuck. We plundered everything and anything we had onto our own island. We spoke languages no one understood. We were our own inside joke. We lived in a constant plethora of positivity.

After months of constant vacations, breakfast-in-bed hotels, and vital actions, we became the disconnect. Not only were we disconnected from reality, but we were disconnected from each other as well. Storms began to surface on our island, creating an unknown layer of darkness.
Everything grew blank.
The words that slithered out from our mouths only spoke sentences; they had no meaning.
