Save the Children

Save the Children

A Poem by Brett Hernan

A child paces
at midnight
wearing only
a single holey-toed
sock
which slips off
then
barefoot
towards you
between
the upside down
aisles of a supermarket
holding a black rot broomstick
dripping chocolate sauce
upwards
.
.
