Listless Desire

Listless Desire

A Poem by Brian McKinnon

She draws me in
Our souls akin
A listless desire
The embullas of Fire
An empty trunk
An open door
That scathing remark
A patch; No more
Forgotten yet remembered
Estranged by the adorned
Driving on deflated wheels
Embracing all the lure
Our fears embrace in balance
Illusions all endured
A cat that's lost
Alone and scared
Your sunshine smile
Reminding me of home
A generation tattooed
Earmarked and eschewed
A listless desire
The embracing of two
